Co3, finding new ways to connect

Co3 connects audiences with contemporary dance with a full night of entertainment in March with the launch of the Co:nnect Series. The Co:nnect Series is a program to showcase the future of Australian artists, by providing opportunities for dancers and creators to present work alongside Co3 main performance season. It offers audiences an opportunity to engage with the company in new ways, adding value to their Co3 experience.

Co3 is committed to furthering audience engagement with contemporary dance, and the Co:nnect Series as an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the artists and creators involved in making the performances.

“Driven by excellence and collaboration, Co3 is a contemporary organisation, generating contemporary conversations through dance. The Co:nnect series is a perfect way for audiences to engage with the company beyond the traditional theatre setting,” says Artistic Director Raewyn Hill.

As part of the March season of re:Loaded, ticket buyers will gain an insight into the new Co3 Elite Training Squad prior to the main performance. Audiences are invited to enter the theatre at 6pm (prior to the 7.30pm performance on 18 and 19 March) for an introduction into the Co3 Elite Training Squad who will present a class demonstration followed by a performance of their re-imagination of Raewyn Hill’s the gates. The Co3 Elite Training replicates the training method of the Co3 main ensemble and is selected from senior members of the Act-Belong-Commit Co:Youth ensemble, who intend to enter tertiary dance training.

Following the performance of re:Loaded on 18 and 19 March, audiences will be treated to a musical performance by composer, Ben Ely, in the courtyard of the State Theatre Centre. Free to ticket holders, Ben Ely will perform an acoustic set from his new solo album, Goodbye Machine. Best known as a member of Australian rock group, Regurgitator, Ben Ely composed the score for Gavin Webber’s What’s Left from re:Loaded 2016.
