New opportunities for Co3 founding Executive Director

WA’s leading contemporary dance company is excited to see extraordinary opportunities open for its Executive Director, Aaron Beach, who will be taking up the position of Deputy Executive Director at Sydney’s Belvoir.

Aaron has been a part of the company since its inception and has played an integral role in ensuring the rapid growth of the company. Aaron has worked closely with founding Artistic Director, Raewyn Hill, setting the strategic direction of the Company; the recruitment of the team; development of the philanthropy and partnership program and the growth of the community engagement program.

Of her colleague, Raewyn Hill says: “It’s been an honour working alongside Aaron these past two years, working in a partnership to get this company off the ground. We have achieved so much over this time and we couldn’t have done it without Aaron’s expertise, support and of course his sense of humour! The team will miss him immeasurably, however we know he’ll bring great strength and inspirational leadership to Belvoir and the theatre industry and we look forward to supporting him in his new role.”

Of his time with Co3, Aaron says: “To come to a company at its infancy and to see it grow into the strong, self-assured company it is today has been a rare opportunity. The team we have pulled together has allowed us to break convention and do things differently. I am proud of all we have achieved as a company and know I’m leaving it in great hands. I can’t wait to see the company continue to grow and flourish through national and international collaborations and beyond.”

Belvoir is located in Surry Hills, Sydney and presents a diverse program of theatre in its two spaces. Belvoir is a Major Performing Arts Company and has toured work around the world including an acclaimed season of The Wild Duck at the 2016 Perth International Arts Festival.

Chair of Co3, Wendy Wise says: “Aaron has been instrumental in ensuring the success of Co3 and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his commitment and expertise in setting the company up to be in such a strong position. I am very pleased that Aaron now finds himself working at the heart of an established major arts organisation with prospects of a strong and rewarding future.”

Aaron remains with Co3 until April 2017 following the company’s world premiere season of Frank Enstein in collaboration The Farm and the Bleach* Festival. The recruitment of the Executive Director for Co3 will commence in February.
