Co:Lab is a platform where Western Australian artists are able to experiment, explore and devise choreographic ideas. Working with Artistic Director, Raewyn Hill and Co:3 Company Dancers, Co:Lab offers artists the opportunity to focus on the development of original work without the pressure of a performance outcome. Work created in Co:Lab will be considered for further development in the Co:3 Australia artistic programming. Expressions of interest are open to Western Australian dancers, choreographers, directors and artists through an annual application process.
Co:Lab recipients are provided with a weekly fee, up to four Co:3 Australia Dancers, studio space and production support for one week.
“For many applications and grants that I apply for, there is always an outcome, whether that be a presentation or a showing. To remove that limitation from the week has meant that I can delve into the many interests that have emerged in my independent practice. It has allowed me to interrogate, question and challenge decisions which perhaps I wouldn’t have the time to do so if I was working towards an outcome.”

Expressions of interest for Co:Lab 2020 are now open.
