Co:Y Creative Practice brings together aspiring young dancers who are curious about the world they live in, fuelling their creativity and producing movement ideas and responses as a team.
Empowered to extend their creative development in dance, the program draws on the energy and ideas of the young participants. Unpacking the creative process and research in dance making, our young people engage, participate and collaborate in a positive reciprocal learning environment.
Led by Co:3 Australia’s expert Teaching Artists, weekly sessions will be focused on developing skills related to the growth of young people through the medium of dance, providing a creative space for them to express their sense of place, identity and their being-in-the-world.
The program is designed to grow resilience, self-confidence, interpersonal skills and develop leadership potential in all participants.
Co:Y Creative Practice is offered to Year 6 dancers and above. Dancers will participate in one 1.5 hour sessions per week in mixed aged groups. Sessions will take place at Kins Street Arts Centre, 357-365 Murray Street Perth, WA 6000 on a weekday between 4.30pm – 7.30pm.
