In term 4, the Act-Belong-Commit Co:Youth Ensemble will be working in the studio with renowned choreographer Chrissie Parrott, on an intriguing project that will see our youth ensemble members broaden their choreographic scope and find themselves in new and unusual movement territory – as digital dancers! Laptops and moving bodies will come together in the studio as Chrissie leads Co:Youth in using the character motion software program DanceForms, to play and extend their ability to find new movement ideas, with animated avatars guiding the real dancing bodies.

DIGITAL DANCES will commence with a school holiday intensive which is compulsory to attend. During this week Chrissie will explicitly guide the Co:Youth’s investigation of the DanceForms computer program, to make their digital dancing avatars.

The project will culminate in a collaboration with Co:3 Australia Associate Artist Eden Mulholland, who will draw from the animated material and choreography to create a brand new music video. We are very excited to have Chrissie and Eden work with Co:Youth in term 4!
