Drop off clothes and textiles from ANY brand, in ANY condition, only condition is you still have to love them.

Co:3 wants your old clothes. We are calling upon Perth’s community to be a part of a unique arts project by donating their worn and well-loved black garments, to share the stories they hold. These garments will then be used in the creation of a new performance installation in 2020. Black cotton, silk or linen clothing of all styles, textures and conditions are welcomed.

Our Artistic Director Raewyn Hill has been awarded a prestigious international artistic residency through the Saison Foundation (Japan), which will see Co:3 collaborate with Japanese sculptural artist, Naoko Yoshimoto for her next work. As part of the creation, Naoko will transform hundreds of donated black garments into a sculptural installation.

Every garment tells a story. Co:3’s Garment Drive invites the Perth community to reflect on the connections experienced through our clothing. Contribute to the work by donating a plain black cotton, silk or linen garment and tell us the story of what the item of clothing means to you. Where did it come from? What are the stories and memories the garment holds for you? Why are you letting it go? It can be a sentence, memory, a story, a prayer or a poem.

Donated garments will be used in the creation of the set for a new Co:3 production presented in 2020. With the histories of individuals soaked into the used garments, the sculptures come to life with the memories and stories of the people of Perth.

Co:3 Australia is Western Australia’s premier contemporary dance company led by our Artistic Director Raewyn Hill. Through dance, we create a platform for engaging WA’s diverse community in the exchange of stories that reflect experiences from our country and the Australasian region. Co:3 is committed to advancing and championing contemporary dance on a national and international level.

Donations can be made up until July 20. We will be taking donations at our office in the King Street Arts Centre, Level 1 357-365 Murray Street Perth, 6000 from 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday.

If you wish to email us your story, please email info@co3.org.au and we will send you a media release form for you to complete if you wish to be featured in the Co:3 marketing campaign.

We are taking donations of plain black cotton, silk or linen garments in any condition.
