Russell is a founding dancer of Co:3 Australia. Russell graduated from WAAPA in 2013, and has since worked as a professional performer, teacher and choreographer in Perth. During Russell’s time at WAAPA he performed in works choreographed by Raewyn Hill (Fugue), Charlie Neshyba-Hodges (The Mindful Dancer), Xiao Xiong Zhang (Rite of Spring) and Leigh Warren (There’s No Time Like the Present).
Russell has worked independently with Barking Gecko Theatre Company (Driving Into Walls), STRUT Dance & Unkempt Dance (In:Situ) and Rhiannon Newton (Bodied Assemblies). Russell joined Co:3 Australia in 2015 performing in re:Loaded (2015 & 2016) choreographed by Larissa McGowan (Transducer), Gavin Webber (What’s Left) and Raewyn Hill (Carnivale). In 2016, Russell performed in Raewyn Hill’s the cry, Co:3 Australia’s first full-length work as part of the MoveMe Festival 2016, and Crazy Times choreographed by Antony Hamilton in collaboration with Sydney Dance Company.
