Pathways are a priority within our house, with the mentoring and cultivating of artists at the forefront of our practice. We demonstrate this through a suite of sector development/engagement programs and initiatives.

Initiated to actively support WA’s professional dance ecology by offering WA independent choreographers a platform to further develop and present works on the mainstage alongside Co3 Australia repertoire.

Co3 Australia selects one work from an independent choreographer each year supported through further development for mainstage presentation and performed as curtain raiser to one of Co3 Australia’s major works at the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia in the following year.

Co:Lab is a platform where Western Australian artists are able to experiment, explore and devise choreographic ideas. Working with our Artistic Director and company dancers Co:Lab offers artists the opportunity to focus on the development of original work without a performance outcome. Work created in this space will be considered for Pathway to Mainstage.

Co3 Australia has established pathways for development and presentation opportunities with some of Australia’s leading contemporary dance companies such as Sydney Dance Company, Chunky Move and Australian Dance Theatre.

Our pathway to mainstage and national stage programs are available to practicing independent artists through a public call out and are by invitation from our Artistic Director, Raewyn Hill.
