Sam Coren
Sam is a multi-award winning dancer a choreographer based between Europe and Australia. Born in South London to immigrant parents, Coren discovered his love of dance at an early age when his mum sent him to community dance classes. This is where he mastered the corner stone of every self respecting dance practice, being a tree.
He went on to study at London Contemporary Dance School obtaining BA and MA degrees in performance
And choreography. He honed his skills as a performer working with world renowned companies such as Jasmin Vardimon, Clod Ensemble and was a senior member of Hofesh Shechter company for over 5 years amongst others. He has also worked extensively on screen performing and movement directing for brands/artists such as Uber, Myer, FKA Twigs, Chemical Brothers, Jon Hopkins, English National Ballet, Universal Studios and NBC amongst others.
Sams has created work across the globe, recently completing commissions in London, Spain, Norway, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Sam’s choreography has recently been exploring Science fiction, fantasy and absurdism. His interest in clowning has led him to explore the intersections between humour and movement, often incorporating elements of physical comedy into his work to create worlds that are satirical, bizarre and very occasionally, insightful.
