My passion for health, fitness and sports performance grew at an early age. In 1987  I was selected into the gymnastics program at the WA Institute of Sport. I trained here for nine years and competed for Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. After a couple of years in retirement I worked my way back onto the Australian team for the 1999 World Championships. Unfortunately an injury at the Olympic Trials in 2000 led me to hang up my leotards again.

A few years later while completing my PhD, I started playing around in amateur boxing. I qualified for the 2010 World Championships and gained a world ranking  of 9th in the light flyweight division (48kg).

I was introduced to CrossFit early in 2011. I started training at Southern CrossFit in Perth and 6 months later we qualified a team for the 2011 CrossFit Games, one of the best sporting experiences I have had.

Obviously my sporting history has shaped who I am today, in particular my ambitions and commitment to achieve. I am the first to admit that being a great athlete doesn’t make you a great coach. But I have learnt through my athletic and coaching experiences how to create a blueprint for success.
