Aimee Smith
Aimee Smith is an award-winning choreographer and dance artist, working at the intersection of arts and sustainability for over 15 years. A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Aimee has achieved a celebrated career in Western Australia, producing a series of critically acclaimed independent dance productions including; Borderline, Wintering, Accidental Monsters of Meaning, Breakings, Courageously Heroic Gallantry and Press Play. Aimee has been commissioned to create work for Next Wave Festival, STRUT Dance, BUZZ Dance Theatre, WAAPA, TaipeIdea and The Arctic Circle Project.
Alongside her choreographic career, she has worked as a dancer (Didier Theron, Sue Peacock, Paul Gazzola, Hydra Poesis, Company Upstairs, Emma Fishwick) and has extensive experience in community arts, directing a number of large-scale community dance projects throughout Australia.
