Alex Kay

Alex Kay is a Perth born and bred contemporary dancer and educator. She was a member with STEPS Youth Dance Company in 2014 under the directorship of Alice Lee Holland and was a founding member of Co3 Contemporary Dance Youth in 2015. Alex graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2018, and in 2019 was a part of LINK Dance Company, under the directorship of Michael Whaites graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours). After graduating, Alex became a Developing Artist with Co3 Contemporary Dance, performing in collaboration with Circa on ‘LEVIATHAN’ (2020).During this time, Alex also performed in ‘Colossus’ by Stephanie Lake (2020). As an artist with Co3, Alex has performed in Raewyn Hill’s ‘ARCHIVES OF HUMANITY’ (2021), The Farm’s ‘THE NINTH WAVE’ (2022) and Douglas Wright’s ‘GLORIA’ remounted by Raewyn Hill (2022). As well as performing, Alex is a Teaching Artist with Co3 and the West Australian Ballet. She is passionate about sharing dance with young people of all abilities and experience. She is also a qualified Yoga instructor and is interested in cultivating flow state through mindfully moving and how this can directly influence dance and performance.
