Antonio Rinaldi
Antonio hails from Melbourne, Victoria and studied at The Victorian College of the Arts on full scholarship before moving to Perth to study at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Between 2013 and 2016, he obtained his Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor and finished with first class Honours of Dance during his year with LINK Dance Company.
His time at WAAPA involved works by Kim McCarthy, Nils Christe and Annegien Sneep, Michael Whaites, and Sue Healey. In 2015, he was awarded the Paulette Carson Scholarship for dance.
During 2016, he toured Europe with LINK, performing at Vondelpark Openluchttheater and in Montpellier with works by Perth independent choreographer and dancer, Isabella Stone and ex-Australian Dance Theatre dancer, Scott Ewen.
In his time in Perth, he worked with the West Australian Opera on La Traviata (2013), West Australian Ballet on Coppelia (2015) as well as working a residency with Co3 Artistic Director Raewyn Hill on the cry (2016) and Strut’s SEED residency with Israeli choreographer and ex-Batsheva dancer, Michael Getman (2016).
In 2017, Antonio worked with Opera Australia on a season of King Lear under the directorship of Matthew Barclay via Cathy Marston. Prior to this, he was one of 14 dancers to perform in William Forsythe’s One Flat Thing Reproduced with STRUT and The Forsythe Foundation.
Antonio started 2017 as a developing artist with Co3 and performed in Raewyn Hill’s new work THE ZONE.
