In-Lore Act II is the first commission for Co3 Contemporary Dance from Chrissie Parrott, a multi awarded creative artist whose career spans over four decades working extensively in the creative industries. Her primary practice is in Dance, as dancer, lecturer, director and choreographer, she has directed for theatre TV and film, designed set and costumes, taught multimedia and animation and creates large – scale digital artworks.
Chrissie has created a repertoire of over 80 works most particularly within the context of the Chrissie Parrott Dance Company [CPDC]. Commissions include works for, Australian Dance Theatre, Queensland Ballet, Tasdance, Sinfionetta de Lorraine France, West Australian Ballet, Theater Vorpommern in the Baltic city of Stralsund, Crameer Balletten Stockholm and Tanz Forum Cologne touring to the Avignon Festival France. She has choreographed and directed works for Theatre for Sydney Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, Thin Ice and Black Swan State Theatre Company.
Chrissie has held the position of Senior Research Fellow with Edith Cowan University and was an Adjunct professor at Queensland University of Technology within their creative industries unit CIRAC. Her outstanding contribution to contemporary dance-associated arts has been significantly acknowledged by the presentation of numerous awards including the Sidney Myer Arts Award, Western Australian Citizen of the Year 2000, Lifetime Achievement Award and was most recently honoured as a State Living Treasure.
