Ella-Rose Trew has spent over a decade as a dancer, educator and dance-maker based in Perth, Western Australia. A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and LINK Dance Company, she went on to work with Buzz Dance Theatre, STEPS Youth Dance Company and was a founding member and inaugural Associate Artist of Co3 Contemporary Dance.
She is currently choreographing with first-year students at WAAPA, developing a work Waltzing with the ghosts; in 2019, choreographing The Colour of Distance with students at WAAPA. Ella-Rose has created works with and for the Co:Youth Ensemble, students at John Curtin College of the Arts, STEPS Youth Dance Company and short works for Strut Dance’s Short Cuts program. She continues to lecture within the dance department at WAAPA and teach independently around Perth. She has worked extensively across the independent dance sector, with Emma Fishwick, Sue Peacock, Laura Boynes, Isabella Stone, Aimee Smith, Jo Pollitt, Paea Leach, Rachel Ogle, Rhiannon Newton, Shona Erskine and Jenni Large. At the 2018 Performing Arts WA Awards, Ella-Rose was awarded the Best Female Performer (Dance).
