Mindarie Senior College students in step with Co3 dance professionals

DANCE students in Mindarie learned about choreography from professional dancers ahead of Frank Enstein performances in Perth this week.

Co3 Contemporary Dance company dancers held a dance education workshop as part of its Co:Education community engagement program at Mindarie Senior College (MSC) on March 28.

MSC dance teacher Pamela Konijn said the workshops inspired and assisted Year 11 & 12 ATAR dance students (17 students) understand choreographic choices before seeing Co3’s Frank Enstein production.

“Opportunities to work with WA’s flagship contemporary dance company and exposure to professional dancers is part of MSC’s vision to inspire students to create their own arts practice,” Mrs Konijn said.

“Students are given opportunities to see live professional performances and work with dance specialists in many different genres as part of their studies.”

Frank Enstein is a retelling of the classic tale through dance theatre and will be performed at the State Theatre Centre WA’s Studio Underground from April 5-8.

Public performances will be at 7.30pm daily, while school matinees will take place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
