Joel Evans
Joel brings a breadth of experience across arts programming, fundraising and community engagement
Joel describes himself as a father, poet, creative producer and arts administrator. He holds a Master of Education from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts from Deakin University.
Throughout his career, Joel has worked across a diverse range of leading arts organisations and cultural institutions. He’s been a Teaching Artist for Western Edge Youth Theatre, Education Assistant at The Malthouse Theatre, as well as Outreach Coordinator at Arts Centre Melbourne. He became the first Senior Arts Programmer at Bunjil Place, a new outer-urban arts centre in Victoria’s south-east, managed The Blue Room Theatre programming team, and most recently was the Manager; Arts & Culture at Minderoo Foundation.
Joel wholeheartedly believes that art is for everyone, and has focused his career on supporting artists to tell their stories.
