Sophie Sibbons

Sophie is a Perth based performer who graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2022, becoming a member of LINK Dance Company in 2023. Throughout her training, she performed in works by both local and international artists including Emma Fishwick’s and Again, Anouk van Dijk’s Nothing Really Comes To Rest, Pina Bausch’s Tannhäuser Bacchanale remounted by Ophelia Young and Marigia Maggipinto, and Raewyn Hill’s Architect of the Invisible with Co3.

Since graduating, Sophie has engaged with Perth’s independent scene, performing and choreographing numerous works presented through The Blue Room Theatre and STRUT Dance. Most notably, she performed in the world premiere of Manifest by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui as part of Perth Festival 2025, which has since become the recipient of two Performing Arts WA awards.

Sophie became a Co3 teaching artist in 2025 through their ‘Paper, Scissors, Rocket!’ program and continues this into 2026. She also joined the company on their Regional WA Tour of In The Shadow of Time (2025) as a teaching artist, delivering workshops in Magaret River, Albany, and Bunbury.

Currently, Sophie is intrigued with how vulnerability and generosity can allow for honesty within movement, as well as the concept of ‘flow’. Within this, she is investigating how the body’s rigid form can be manipulated and disrupted, exploring ways to uncover power and grit.
