Since moving back to Australia in 2015, he has been in school productions both acting and writing, and performed in shows at the Canberra Theatre. Performing with the Canberra Academy of Dramatic Art, William won the Acting Up theatre competition for ‘Theatre Underground’ in early 2017.
He has starred in the short film, Black Sheep, and receiving the award for Best Actor in a University of Canberra short film competition.
William received a brachial plexus injury as a result of birth, restricting his use of his left arm.
“Frank is played with brilliance and depth by guest artist William Rees, such a perfect fit for the role, that had I not read otherwise, I would assume that the role had been written for him.” – Kimberley Shaw, Stage Whispers
“As Frank, Rees had the audience giggling as he ricocheted between triumph and terror, interacting with his newly enlivened creatures.” – Nina Levy, Seesaw Magazine
